Ripperton Revealed as Secret Int. Guest

Ripperton to Play Sweetchilli at newly renovated Civic Theatre on Friday 1st February

Sweetchilli is pleased to announce a second Sydney show for Ripperton on Friday 1st February at their weekly home, the Civic Theatre.

Having already wowed crowds at Rainbow Serpent Festival in Victoria and Lost Baggage in Sydney, Ripperton will take the decks at Sydney’s best small venue, the Civic Theatre. The Civic will be the perfect venue to showcase Ripperton’s sound. Boasting one of the best sound systems in the country and featuring a newly installed Allen & Heath Valve V6 mixer (one of only 2 in the country, the other being at Brisbane super club The Family), the Civic Theatre has recently undergone a renovation. The venue now features white leather booths and wall panelling, a world class Klipsch sound system with bass bins built into the sunken dance floor and spanking new lighting. To say the venue oozes underground class is an understatement.

Ripperton who will play an extended set will be supported by Sweetchilli residents Daniel Crocetti and Carlos Zarate.

Sweetchilli Events, now into its’ 9th year has been running their weekly event at the Civic for just over 4 months with the night is going from strength to strength. Having already hosted internationals including Lee Burridge, Solead/Motion, Jimmy Van M and Extrawelt as well as hugely successful nights with locally based DJ’s, Friday 1st February is set to go off.

Stay tuned for a huge array on international acts to be announced for the weekly party in the coming weeks.

RIPPERTON is leader of the new Swiss renaissance and sits right up there with the best of them, making serious waves worldwide as a solo producer/DJ and having already released on the hottest minimal / techno / deep house / progressive labels in the world as the production genius behind the chart-topping duo LAZY FAT PEOPLE, whose EP’s Melbourne institution Rhythm & Soul cites as the single biggest sellers in the minimal / techno genre last year after EPs by Carl Craig and Loco Dice. His sound as a DJ is stripped-back, lush, melodic and utterly infectious minimal techno grooves and nu-skool deep house that builds in epic intensity via seamless chord mixing and layering, and is guaranteed to ignite any minimal / progressive / techno / deep house dancefloors to fever-pitch nationwide.
