Robbie Lowe

Robbie Lowe DJ

Robbie Lowe is one of Australia’s finest DJs and is often the “go-to-guy” for perfect support and warm-up spots for the biggest names on the planet. He’s set just the right mood for a multitude of internationals, from house artists such as Pezzner and Danny Howells and the finest in progressive such as Sasha & Digweed, right across to the world’s biggest trance act – Tiesto. Robbie’s equally at ease playing to thousands of people at major national festivals, as he is setting the vibe at darker, intimate back room gigs.

Robbie’s label as “Sydney’s best warm-up DJ” could be seen as a bittersweet label to be tagged with, but it is one Robbie wears with modest pride. However as great as he is warming up a room, he is clearly an amazing peak time DJ in his own right as shown through his consistent dancefloor following and excellent residencies over the past decade.

Robbie has always owned a warm house and tech-house sound. Vibey, underground baselines, snappy percussion and warmth in his choice of melodies. In the latter early years, you would usually see Robbie at Sydney’s leading record stores hunting down the latest End Recordings or Eukatech. Not much has changed. His approach is an ever-updated version of the style he has always had since then. Diverse, deep and his programming is deadly. Pin point accuracy and never losing the flow. And as far as mixing, he’s the tightest of them all. Steady as a rock.

DJing since the mid 90’s Robbie’s journey launched properly with a top notch residency at the legendary Sounds On Sunday events at Sydney’s Greenwood. Here Robbie developed a solid fan base as his late evening courtyard sets became the talk of the town. From 2002, Sweetchilli promoters Daniel Crocetti and Crispin Kerr hooked in to Robbie’s talent and direction which resulted in focused and top quality sets with a great diversity.

Beyond the Sweetchilli partnership, Robbie’s career has been filled with as much diversity as his sets. He’s been a regular contributor to Australian EDM magazines Drum Media and 3D World, along with a tonne of radio spots both online and across traditional airwaves. In 2009 he mixed the highly acclaimed “Colour” podcast series alongside fellow Sydney DJ, Tim Culbert and more recently picked up by clothing label Zanerobe as a brand ambassador. The international scene hasn’t missed out either, with slots at New York’s Sullivan Room and Le Souk along with London’s epic Turnmills in 2005 alongside UMEK & John 00 Fleming, and in 2011 Bali’s SOS Supper Club.

Robbie’s started his journey into music production with Sydney producer Matt Rowan, and since have seen releases on Hussle, Outta Limits, Rococo and Proton. More recently Robbie turned in “Real Time ” for Proton Music, and yet another solo e.p for Low Pressings called the “Floor Jam”.

His flare, personality and diversity as a DJ is something that will have Robbie Lowe kept as Sydney’s firm favourite. Regardless of whether it’s the current residencies for Spice Cellar or Shrug, or setting the standard for the Australian festival circuit, you will always see and hear the passion, skills and talent that makes for an understated, but very special DJ.

*Daniel Crocetti

Daniel Crocetti - DJ

I guess the best place to start is to firstly ask the question… Does all this really matter ?

You know… writing your achievements down on paper for others to read isn’t exactly Daniel’s style… What has he accomplished ? Who has he supported ? What is he doing in the scene at the moment ? The list could easily go for a couple of pages and is continually growing.

Daniel isn’t caught up with what others are doing, he prefers to just get on with it and get stuff done. The fact that Daniel along with friend and business partner Crispin Kerr, has run one of Australia’s most successful and long standing underground parties ‘Sweetchilli’ for the last 7 years is a massive achievement in itself. Crispin Kerr - DJ photo
He has a full-time job, successful events and touring business, gigs every weekend, football 3 times a week, basketball and tennis once a week and somehow still manages to find time to sit back and relax with friends and family……you have to wonder where he gets his energy from.

The thing is, Crispin loves every minute of it.

Crispin’s DJ career spans 7 years, including a 6 year residency at Sweetchilli – undoubtedly one of
